Slowly recovering from the devastating deluge that has destroyed a great deal of its infrastructure, Kerala and its people are now beginning to find their feet.
Besides broken houses, roads and places of work, they are also dealing with a severe shortage of necessary items. In such times, people often leave their dignity and civic decency at the door. However, this isn’t the case in many parts of Kerala, where for the most part people are supporting each other in their time of need.

A great example of this came to the fore in a video that has gone viral on Twitter last week. Despite standing in a 1-km-long queue outside a petrol pump in Malappuram district to fill their petrol tanks, they maintained their discipline and orderliness.
